  Hello my name is Terry McGahan.   I offer you my consultative skills as an experienced mortgage professional. I’ve been a mortgage professional and have owned and managed a business that has been operating successfully for over 9 years. Home borrowing choices for personal and investment have become extremely complex in recent times as world economic events have changed the way that many lenders in Australia view what has traditionally been for many people ‘the right of passage’ into residential owner occupied or investment property. Trying to decipher which is the right lending institution or has the optimum total home loan package can be a very onerous and time consuming task indeed.   As an Australian Credit Licence (ACL) holder ,  Full Member and Credit Advisor  (CA) within the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) and with appropriate qualifications  in regard to Financial Services (Finance / Mortgage Broking) I can assist you in working through these options to find the right home lending  solution for you. There are a large number of banks and financial institutions, each offering a range of products available at various interest rates, fee structures and flexibilities. My specialty is being able to streamline this process to make sure you get what you want from a home loan at the right price and with the right options for you.   How do I know this? I have over 28 years expertise in the finance and home mortgage industry.  For 18 plus years I was employed by one of Australia’s leading banks.  My previous roles included being a mobile mortgage manager and prior to that a personal relationship manager. What I found disappointing with this company, was that in my genuine desire to help my clients, I was not always able to provide them with the absolute best option as I was limited to the products , services and policies of a single bank.  Sometimes it was a case of trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, giving clients what the bank wanted, not necessarily what the client needed. There was also on a growing number of occasions, cases where the client could not qualify for a home loan as they did not fit the model that the bank was looking for or the bank felt that the client was at their maximum borrowing capacity.   It was a difficult decision after 18 years of employment security but eventually I did leave the bank in 2002 to head up my own Mortgage Consultancy business. Complete satisfaction for me comes from building long term relationships with clients and providing superior service, not just forgetting about them once they have ‘signed up’ with a lender. It is the best career decision I have ever made. I love being a mortgage professional as it allows me to provide my clients with the right options now and also in the future, not only as their circumstances change but also when changes in the financial industry occur that I know will have an important bearing on their financial well being.  I have access to over 25 lenders, including all the majors, many regional, and also a growing numer of non bank lenders and am able to virtually qualify anyone into a home loan regardless of financial circumstance.   If you would like a complete review of your home loan options, goals, advice on residential investment borrowing or would simply like a second opinion on your current borrowings I would love the opportunity to meet with you and discuss your individual circumstances.
